Kim Ok Ju

Kim Ok Ju (Korean: 김옥주) is a DPR Korean singer whose repertoire spans pop and folk styles. She began performing in 2008, emerging through the Moranbong Quartet and appearing alongside the Wangjaesan Band and the Pochonbo Electronic Ensemble.

Her profile grew during her years with the Unhasu Orchestra, where she took both solo features and ensemble parts. After that orchestra was dissolved in 2013, she joined the newly formed Chongbong Band in 2015, then moved to the Moranbong Band in 2017, where she served as a lead vocalist and vocal coordinator.

Since 2020 she has performed with the Band of the State Affairs Commission, recording studio numbers and appearing in a steady stream of televised concerts. She is known for singing in Russian at concerts held for visiting delegations, and has also performed Belarusian material, drawing praise for her command of foreign-language vocals. She holds the title of People's Artiste.
